Aviary was built with the mission of democratizing creativity: We thought that if we built the right set of photo editing tools, we could help bring out the hidden inner creative talents in everyone in the world.

To best serve our mission, we have packaged up our photo editor into a powerful SDK that third party developers can easily add to any app on web or mobile in minutes. With more than 2,000 partners, 25 million active users, and 2 billion photos edited in Aviary so far, we're well on our way to powering the world’s creativity.

Our History

Aviary’s founders have been helping people be creative with their photos for more than a decade. We started with Worth1000.com in 2001, and then developed a suite of award-winning creative tools in 2007 which became the foundation for Aviary’s current direction.

Backed by top tier investors including Spark Capital, Walgreens, Jeff Bezos, and Reid Hoffman, we have a world-class team of experts who are passionate about making photos look amazing.
